Kayla was born and raised in Gainesville, FL where, at the age of nine, she acted in her first play.   It was an adaptation of Little Red Riding Hood and Kayla played "Harry", a Jew from the Bronx and the head of the three little pigs.   Kayla continued acting -eventually moving onto some more meaty material after being typecast as the "valley girl" for a couple years in the pre-teen era - and she finally moved to NYC in the summer of 2003 to attend Pace University, where she received a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Acting in 2006.    Kayla enjoyed all aspects of the theatre at Pace, including costuming, make up, and directing.   She was especially influenced by The Viewpoints and eagerly applied that specific training to her directing and acting.   After graduation she co-founded New Company Theatre, a theatre company devoted to holding onto the creative and collaborative aspects of theatre.    She has also acted in numerous plays and films around NYC.
